Reboot kultowej serii horrorów, zapoczątkowanej w 1992 roku. W Alone in the Dark trafiamy do posiadłości Derceto, którą przemierzamy w skórze Emily Hartwood i Edwarda Carnby’ego. Protagoniści badają tajemnice tego miejsca i stawiają czoła potworom, które je opanowały.
W latach 20. XX wieku ojciec Emily Hartwood zaginął w tajemniczych okolicznościach na południu Stanów Zjednoczonych. Po latach kobieta przybywa do posiadłości Derceto, pełniącej funkcję domu dla obłąkanych, w towarzystwie prywatnego detektywa – Edwarda Carnby’ego. Próbując rozwikłać zagadkę zniknięcia Hartwooda, duet odkrywa, że dwór został opanowany przez złowrogie siły, przez które pobyt w tym miejscu zmienia się w prawdziwą walkę o przetrwanie.
