Code Vein to RPG akcji wydane na platformę PC, PS4 i XONE przez firmę Bandai Namco. Za jego produkcję odpowiada japoński zespół Shift, który wcześniej stworzył serię God Eater.
Akcja Code Vein rozgrywa się w postapokaliptyczej wizji niedalekiej przyszłości, po tym jak tajemnicze kolce przebiły skorupę ziemską. Ludzka cywilizacja legła w gruzach, a jedynymi ocalałymi są tzw. Revenants - wampiry obdarzone nadludzkimi mocami i skupione w społeczności znanej jako Vein. Jej członkowie porzucili człowieczeństwo i większość swoich wspomnień, by przeżyć w nowej, okrutnej rzeczywistości. Jednak nie akceptują oni swojego losu i starają się odkryć tajemnice upadłego świata. Muszą też trzymać na wodzy swoją żądzę krwi, w przeciwnym razie mogą przemienić się w potworne, agresywne kreatury.
Rozgrywka w Code Vein na platformie PC, PS4 i XONE nawiązuje do tradycji serii Dark Souls. Gracze przemierzają kolejne połączone ze sobą lokacje, po drodze rozprawiając się z wymagającymi wrogami, w tym z potężnymi bossami. Istotnym elementem gry jest wysysanie krwi z potworów, dokonywane za pomocą Blood Veil, pełniącego również funkcję zbroi. Jeśli graczowi uda się pobrać życiodajny płyn, może skorzystać z Darów, czyli specjalnych zdolności o różnych efektach: od wzmocnienia kierowanej postaci, przez osłabianie wrogów, po bezpośrednie ataki. Zarówno Blood Veil, jak i zdolności postaci występują w rozmaitych odmianach, co w połączeniu z bogatym arsenałem broni białej pozwala graczom na stosowanie różnorodnych strategii.
Istotnym elementem produkcji jest system pozwalający na pokonywanie gry wraz ze sterowaną przez komputer postacią. Kompana wybieramy spośród dostępnych bohaterów niezależnych, a ich liczba rośnie wraz z postępami w grze. Dzięki temu gracze mogą uporać się z zadaniami, które w pojedynkę mogłyby być zbyt trudne do wykonania. Jednak towarzysz nie jest wyłącznie pomocnikiem w walce - może on działać samodzielnie, a jego poczynania mogą doprowadzić do sytuacji, w której niezbędne okaże się ruszenie mu na odsiecz.
