Platformówka 3D studia Toys for Bob stanowiąca kontynuację Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped z 2007 roku. Podczas zabawy w Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time gracze eksplorują kolorowe światy, przeskakują przeszkody, unikają pułapek i radzą sobie z wrogami.

Pod względem fabularnym gra stanowi kontynuację oryginalnej trylogii. Produkcja przewija historię cyklu do zakończenia Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, wymazując z kanonu wszystkie późniejsze części.

Po wydarzeniach z trzeciej odsłony tercet łotrów, czyli Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy i Uka Uka, został uwięziony na odległej planecie. Złoczyńcy spędzili całe dekady próbując uciec z tego więzienia, ale w końcu odnieśli sukces, wyrywając przy okazji wielką dziurę w kontinuum czasoprzestrzennym. Zadaniem gracza jest powstrzymanie ich nim zawładną całym multiwersum.
