theHunter: Call of the Wild na PC Windows to symulator polowania, będący kontynuacją wydanego w 2009 roku theHunter. W odróżnieniu od poprzedniej odsłony, ta część nie została oparta na modelu biznesowym free-to-play. Zamiast tego deweloperzy ze studia Expansive Worlds udostępnili ją jako klasyczną, płatną grę.
Tytuł jest symulatorem polowania, w którym akcję obserwujemy z perspektywy FPP. Gracze wcielają się w myśliwego, przemierzającego liczący około 50 mil kwadratowych (prawie 130 km kwadratowych) świat. Podczas zabawy wykonujemy rozmaite misje związane oczywiście z polowaniem na zwierzęta. Udostępniona przez deweloperów lokacja pełna jest rozmaitych stworzeń, od naszych głównych celów pokroju jeleni i dzików, przez ptaki, aż po insekty pełniące kosmetyczną rolę, ale nadającej wirtualnemu światu autentyczności. Dodatkowo twórcy przywiązali dużo uwagi do tego, by wirtualne zwierzęta zachowywały się jak żywe.
