Opis:
Seria Tomb Raider to jedna z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych marek w świecie gier wideo. Po znakomitych kilku pierwszych odsłonach, cykl przeszedł mały kryzys i do łask fanów wrócił w 2013 roku wraz ze znakomitą produkcją zatytułowaną po prostu Tomb Raider. Tytuł sprzedał się w ponad 8 milionach egzemplarzy, więc firma Square Enix dała zespołowi Crystal Dynamics (twórcy całej serii oraz np. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver) zielone światło na wyprodukowanie kolejnej odsłony. Tą okazało się być Rise of the Tomb Raider na komputery PC. Gra ukazała się jednak najpierw na konsolach Xbox (360 i One) w listopadzie 2015 roku, a wersja na „blaszaki" pojawiła się na rynku dopiero po kilku miesiącach, co jest właściwie jedyną różnicą pomiędzy tymi wydaniami (nie licząc dużo lepszej oprawy graficznej w stosunku do Xboksa 360).
Rise of the Tomb Raider na platformę PC kontynuuje historię opowiedzianą w poprzedniczce. Wydarzenia, jakie miały miejsce na wyspie Yamatai, odcisnęły piętno na bohaterce, czyniąc ją twardszą i bardziej bezwzględną, a zarazem niespokojną kobietą. Tym razem Lara postanawia ruszyć na Syberię tropem tajemniczego Proroka, a jej celem są ruiny miasta Kitież mającego jakoby ukrywać źródło nieśmiertelności. Historia jest związana z badaniami prowadzonymi przez ojca dziewczyny, jego samobójczą śmiercią i zakonem Trójcy - odwiecznych przeciwników Proroka i jego ludu.
Jeśli chodzi o mechanikę rozgrywki w Rise of the Tomb Raider na platformę PC, twórcy pozostali wierni rozwiązaniom z poprzedniej odsłony. Nadal spore znaczenie odgrywa ciche przemykanie za plecami wrogów i posługiwanie się narzędziami w rodzaju łuku, ale nie brakuje także sekwencji, w których angażujemy się w regularną wymianę ognia. Co istotne, lokacje stały się mniej więcej trzy razy większe - dzięki temu więcej czasu spędzamy teraz na eksploracji, szukając rozmaitych „znajdziek", jak również zróżnicowanych materiałów rzemieślniczych. Twórcy rozbudowali bowiem mechanikę craftingu, dając możliwość wytwarzania rozmaitych przedmiotów (np. bandaży, koktajli Mołotowa, zatrutych strzał) oraz bardziej kompleksowego ulepszania ekwipunku.
Rise of the Tomb Raider to gra przeznaczona głównie do zabawy samotności. Zaliczenie kampanii na 100% może zająć nawet 40 godzin, ale oprócz niej deweloperzy przygotowali także inne formy zabawy, w tym tryb wytrzymałości, hordę, a także:
Score Attack - przechodzenie poszczególnych poziomów na czas, borykając się z nieco zmienionymi zasadami gry;
Remnant Resistance - ustalanie własnych scenariuszy z możliwością samodzielnego dobierania niektórych elementów (cele misji, wrogowie itd. - da się używać w tym celu Expedition Cards, czyli specjalnych modyfikatorów rozgrywki). Stworzone w ten sposób poziomy można udostępniać znajomym, walcząc z nimi później o jak najlepsze wyniki;
Chapter Replay - powtarzanie misji z kampanii fabularnej, przy wykorzystaniu zdobytego wcześniej wyposażenia.
