Bloodhunt jest grą akcji TPP należącą do podgatunku battle royale. Gracze wcielają się w wampiry walczące za pomocą tradycyjnego uzbrojenia oraz licznych mocny nadnaturalnych.

Akcja gry została osadzona w uniwersum World of Darkness, powstałym na potrzeby „papierowych” systemów RPG, takich jak Vampire: The Masquerade. W Bloodhunt zdrada doprowadza do wojny między wampirami. Co gorsza, krwiopijcy staja się celem ataku tajemniczej organizacji znanej jako Wydział. Gracze biorą udział w konflikcie, aby doprowadzić do wygranej swojej strony i przywrócić Maskaradę, czyli pakt mający chronić istoty nocy przed odkryciem przez śmiertelników.
