Produkcja stanowi swego rodzaju nowe otwarcie dla serii, wprowadzając szereg zmian, usprawnień i zupełnie nowych rozwiązań w mechanice rozgrywki oraz w konstrukcji fabuły. Jednocześnie jest pierwszą jej częścią, której akcja została osadzona w starożytności. Opisywana pozycja została wydana na wielu platformach - na ich liście pojawia się PC. To właśnie wersja na komputery osobiste może się pochwalić najwyższej jakości oprawą graficzną - pecetowi gracze jako jedyni mogą się cieszyć z rozgrywki w natywnej rozdzielczości 4K.
Akcja Assassin's Creed: Origins toczy się w starożytnym Egipcie, gdzie swoje początki miało bractwo tytułowych Asasynów. Za powstaniem owego ugrupowania stała intryga, którą gracze poznają w toku przygody, wcielając się w Bayeka z Siwy. Bohater był jednym z nubijskich wojowników, którzy przez wieki służyli faraonom jako agenci i elitarni stróże prawa. On i jemu podobni żołnierze stali się jednak reliktem przeszłości, kiedy do głosu zaczęły dochodzić greckie wpływy wprowadzane przez dynastię Ptolemeuszy - w obliczu zmian protagoniście nie pozostało nic innego, jak dostosować się do nowych realiów.
Podobnie jak miało to miejsce w większości wcześniejszych gier z serii, oprócz wątku historycznego w opisywanej produkcji pojawiają się epizody osadzone w czasach współczesnych. Gracz odkrywa w nich kolejne tajemnice firmy Abstergo Industries, będącej jedynie przykrywką dla działalności zwaśnionego z Asasynami zakonu Templariuszy.
Assassin's Creed: Origins na platformie PC oddaje w nasze ręce rozległy, otwarty świat dorównujący pod względem rozmiarów obszarowi z Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Kraina obejmuje miasta (pokroju Gizy, w której można znaleźć Piramidy i Sfinksa), mniejsze i większe oazy (jak Fajum i Siwa) oraz Deltę Nilu. Tym razem mapa nie została podzielona na mniejsze sektory doczytywane w toku przygody; dotyczy to również rzecznego dna, gdzie można znaleźć podwodne ruiny i wraki zatopionych statków. Istotną rolę odgrywa więc eksploracja, którą uskuteczniamy zarówno na piechotę (po raz kolejny możemy skorzystać z systemu freeruningu, dzięki któremu protagonista wspina się na elementy otoczenia i przeskakuje po nich w zręczny, parkourowy sposób), jak i na grzbiecie wierzchowca - konia lub wielbłąda, które można przyzwać do siebie gwizdnięciem. Oprócz tego w toku przygody możemy powozić rydwanem lub podróżować na pokładzie łodzi.
Świat gry zamieszkują nie tylko dzikie zwierzęta (które Bayek może oswajać i jeśli zajdzie taka potrzeba, wykorzystać jako wsparcie w walce), lecz także postacie neutralne (po raz pierwszy w historii serii ich życie jest podporządkowane cyklowi dnia i nocy oraz indywidualnemu terminarzowi obowiązków). To właśnie od NPC-ów przyjmujemy zadania fabularne i misje poboczne, będące motorem gry. W porównaniu ze zleceniami, jakich podejmowaliśmy się we wcześniejszych grach z serii, questy mają o wiele bardziej otwartą strukturę.
Kolejne zmiany objęły system walki. Autorzy zrezygnowali ze schematu opartego na wyprowadzaniu widowiskowych kontr na rzecz stosowania uników i blokowania ataków tarczą oraz wykorzystywania momentów, kiedy przeciwnicy odsłaniają się na ciosy. Ponadto ataki podzielono na dwie kategorie - lekkie wykorzystujemy przede wszystkim podczas potyczek ze słabszymi oponentami, z kolei stosowanie ciężkich jest jednym ze sposobów na pokonanie opancerzonych wrogów (tyczy się to również bossów). Dodatkowo po naładowaniu specjalnego paska adrenaliny Bayek może wyprowadzić niszczycielski atak zdolny powalić nawet najpotężniejszego oponenta. Na podorędziu bohatera znajdują się zróżnicowane narzędzia mordu - z przeciwnikami radzimy sobie zarówno w zwarciu, przy użyciu broni białej (topory, kije, miecze, sztylety, maczugi), jak i dystansowej (kilka rodzajów łuków); wzorem wcześniejszych odsłon cyklu, oponentów można eliminować również z zaskoczenia, przy użyciu ukrytego ostrza, oraz wykorzystywać wymyślne gadżety pokroju bomb dymnych. Należy też wspomnieć, że elementy ekwipunku można ulepszać w oparciu o rozbudowany system craftingu.
Wyraźnie zarysowane elementy RPG obejmują także rozwój postaci. W toku przygody zdobywamy doświadczenie i awansujemy na kolejne poziomy, a pozyskane punkty zdolności wydajemy na zakup skilli ulokowanych na rozbudowanym drzewku. Umiejętności podzielono na trzy grupy odpowiadające preferowanemu stylowi zabawy: Master Warrior obejmuje talenty dotyczące walki w zwarciu; Master Hunter pozwala opanować korzystanie z łuku i cichą eliminację wrogów; Master Seer z kolei dotyczy narzędzi wykorzystywanych przez Bayeka i manipulacji środowiskiem. Niejako ponad nimi stoi Senu, czyli oswojony orzeł, a zarazem wierna towarzyszka prowadzonego do boju herosa. Ptaka posyłamy na niezbyt odległe zwiady (co pozwala zapoznać się z topografią terenu i pozycjami zajmowanymi przez przeciwników), a rozwijając jego zdolności, gwarantujemy sobie możliwość oznaczania wypatrzonych przez niego adwersarzy, a nawet odwracania ich uwagi.

Assassin's Creed Origins - The Curse of the Pharaohs Crackfix

This crackfix is intended for people having launch problems with the
game. If the game launched and worked fine for you before, you don't
need this crackfix!
We tested our initial release on about 15 different PC's with various
configurations and played for hours without any problems. Now it
seems there are still some situations, where the game doesn't even
launch for some people. We identified VMP being part of the problem
plus Denuvo related timezone restrictions.
Both issues have been tackled in this crackfix and successfully been
tested on PCs with previous launch problems.
Thanks to all the testers involved - you know who you are!

- Block the game's exe in your firewall to prevent the game from
trying to go online ..

Release Notes:
This is an experimental Proof of Concept release where the Denuvo DRM
and VMProtect have been removed completely from the main executable.
The main idea of this project was to verify whether Denuvo affects
CPU usage and overall performance of this game. We noticed faster
loading times but will leave the rest of the performance comparison
battle to others.
Here is a small tech summary of what has been done:
- VMProtect is fully removed (30 VM entry points)
- Denuvo is fully removed (104 VM entry points)
- All required PE directories are fully restored
(exports, imports, exceptions, TLS)
- Fixed around 500k absolute & relative code and data pointers
The team would like to send out special thanks to our hard working
mate who is responsible for this huge project. This would not have
